Taken didn’t seem like a movie that would lead to a sequel, but leave it to Hollywood. Liam Neeson is back as the no-bullshit, ass-kicking ex CIA operative Bryan Mills who will do anything to protect his family. The actor who played Boris The Blade in Snatch, Rade Serbedzija, plays the father of one of the murdered kidnappers from the first film – who is now seeking revenge against Mills. It’ll be tough to top the original Taken, but we’re looking forward to watching Liam Neeson administering his own brand of beat-down justice again when the film releases on October 5th.
When I first sat down to watch this movie, I wasn’t expecting anything great – just your typical shoot ‘em up Hollywood action movie. Man was I wrong. Liam Neeson is badder than Michael Jackson (even in the Bad video) when his teenage daughter is kidnapped by foreign sex traffickers. Having been a former government spy, he knows the ins and outs of the underworld and is willing to take down anyone who stands in the way of rescuing his child. The movie is constantly entertaining with lots of replay value (I’ve seen it like ten times) and currently only $14.99 on Amazon.
