OluKai Hiapo Flip Flops

olukai hiapo flip flop sandals

While they are a bit pricey, I can tell you from personal experience that OluKai flip flops last for years. My OluKai Akua’s are still going strong and I’ve been wearing them for several summers. If you’re not ready to shell out the $150 for the Akua model, the Hiapo (shown above) is a bit more affordable. Made with premium full grain leather, these sandals also feature the anatomical contour and rubber trackpads for extra comfort, durability, and shock absorption. Simply put, you’ll be hard pressed to find a pair of flip flops that feel better on your feet than an OluKai.

OluKai Akua Sandals

Strangely, the most expensive pair of shoes I own are flip flops. I was headed on a trip to Italy and knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking in hot weather, so I wanted to invest in some quality sandals. At a local surf shop in NY, I tried on a few pairs and the OluKai Akua’s completely stood out in terms of comfort. If I would’ve noticed the $150 price tag I wouldn’t have even tried them on, but after wearing them I had my mind set and bought them anyway. The sandals are of the utmost quality and design with full grain Italian leather, hand stitching, and rubber traction pods underneath to absorb shock and ad grip. After walking countless miles in mine they are still in great shape and just as comfortable as the day I discovered them in the surf shop.
