Today’s Dream Home resides in the city that never sleeps: New York, New York. Listed for sale at $9.9MM, this West 18th Street penthouse apartment includes 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths and top-of-the-line finishes and appliances. Priced at $2,766 per square foot of living space, it may not be the most bang for your buck in terms of size – but you won’t get NYC skyline views like this from the burbs. Topped off with a private elevator and private rooftop terrace, the apartment is also in a building that features a 24-hr doorman, gym, and pool. See the listing here.
First off, the title of this post is slightly misleading – the 420 Sq. Ft. apartment for sale in SOHO NYC is only asking $995k, we just thought $1M had such a better ring to it. It may sound crazy already, but if you loved Transformers as a kid and want to live in the hip and prestigious New York neighborhood south of Houston Street, this little apartment works wonders. With moveable walls, murphy beds, retractable projector screen, a dining table that folds into the kitchen counter, and floor to ceiling storage built into every nook and cranny – the 420 Sq. Ft. home can host a dinner party of 12, sleep 4, and host movie night. See the property listing here
With the high cost of living, even most successful New York City residents have to sacrifice living space in order to have a Manhattan zip code. The owner of this 73rd street penthouse is fortunate (rich) enough to not require such sacrifice. The main room of this spacious triplex features a high ceiling and Swiss stone wall to accompany the 15-foot-wide fireplace. The bathroom is something out of a sci-fi movie with glass walls that can be turned opaque for privacy with the flick of a switch. Definitely one swank bachelor pad. The Paris Auto show is going on now, and like most Americans, I’m unable t0 attend. I did however go to a great free (and open to the public) auto show at the World Financial Center in NYC a few weeks ago. Some of the highlights were the Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes SLS, Corvette LSI, Ferrari 458, Audi R8 Spyder, and Aston Martin v12 Vantage. It wasn’t a very large show, but you got to see some real awesome cars that were spread out in the large marble lobby of the building. Also, you could step outside to check out Yachts docked along the Hudson and grab a drink by the water. I should have brought my camera with me, but here are some lousy pics from my iPhone.
