3 Luxury Man Cave Seating Ideas

Any modern male needs a fortress of solitude within their home where they can ruminate and gather their thoughts or, truth be told, play XBOX and watch action films. This area, henceforth known as the man cave, needs to be decked out with some seriously cool and comfortable seating for it to be enjoyed to its maximum potential….

….so, look no further than these 3 great examples of designer chairs, perfect for man caves of any size:

Womb Chair & Ottoman by Eero Saarinen:
Womb Chair & Ottoman by Eero Saarinen
Price $1500 Approx – Whilst there is no denying that this isn’t the most appropriately monikered chair for a man cave, there is one thing that can’t be denied and that is the level of comfort that this eye-catching luxury seat provide.

Designed by Finnish born designer Eero Saarinen, it is the perfect example of seating that allows you to hunker down and rack up some solid film watching / video game playing time. Ideal for modern man caves with a minimalist feel.

Ball Chair by Eero Aarnio

Ball Chair by Eero Aarnio

Price $1100 Approx – The ball chair is a design staple of contemporary homes and, dare I say, no man-cave would be complete without designer seating of this nature. Effortlessly stylish, undeniably cool and not altogether outrageously priced, this breath-taking Ball Chair from Eero Aarnio will definitely complete the look of your man-cave with some quite considerable aplomb.

When you consider that this style of chair was first conceived back in the mid-1960s, it is clear that Aarnio was considerably ahead of his time – and, almost certainly, was one of the pioneers of man-caves. As mentioned, comfort needs to be one of the prerequisites of any man’s fortress of solitude and the Ball Chair certainly doesn’t disappoint in this department with The New York Times once describing it, someone succinctly, as “the most comfortable chair”. Praise indeed.

Whilst color-coordination may seem like a concern more associated with a woman-cave, it is nevertheless reassuring that you will be able pick up your Ball Chair in a variety of different colors – including the obligatory jet-black for those who want a foreboding man-cave. If you’re after a splash of color, though, the red version above will certainly do the trick.

RAR Chair by Charles Eames

RAR Chair by Charles Eames

Price $350 Approx – Men like to rock, literally and metaphorically, which is why no man-cave is complete without a rocking chair of some description – enter this eye-catching number from American designer Charles Eames. It’s probably prudent to warn you that the rocking motion will inevitably send you to sleep so it’s probably not a good idea to put it in the “work-space” area of your man-cave.

Bentley Mulsanne

If your rap album just went platinum or you won the Powerball lotto, you’re going to need a new car. Why not roll in style in Bentley’s new flagship model the Mulsanne. This large luxury sedan is powered by 6.75 liter V8 that produces 505 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque. You’d think it would be used to tow yachts with that kind of torque, but it’s more likely to have the rich and famous chauffeured to one. The interior is wrapped in fine leather and polished wood, fit for a king. The first vehicle produced was sold at the Pebble Beach auto event for $550k. But why stop there, next get yourself a driver! (one can dream…)

Maybach 62SIf you’re the wealthiest of the wealthy, you can’t be seen being chauffeured around in a regular limo. Hell, the kids from the suburbs take those things to the prom! For the ultimate in comfort, luxury, and form you need to be in a Maybach. Pictured is the 62S, a 604 hp mansion living room on wheels. Pull the curtains shut and recline in your seat while your tuxedo wearing driver deals with traffic and peasants. They start around $500k but for a little more you can get the Zeppelin model which has an automated fragrance dispenser. Wouldn’t want to be smelling regular people now would we!?!

Girard-Perregaux Alligator Men’s Automatic Watch

I know it’s 2010, but I was still a bit surprised to see a $41,112 watch for sale on Amazon. This Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 Men’s automatic watch features an 18k rose gold case and alligator skin leather strap. You will be the man when around watch aficionados but keep in mind that with 41 grand you could by 1,000 cheap Timex watches and 285 baby alligators (had to do a little pet alligator research to get that statistic).

2006 Mercedes CL 500

A certified pre-owned Mercedes can have you driving in luxury and style without devastating your bank account as terribly as a new model off the lot. Pictured is a 2006 CL 500 purchased last summer that is in mint condition and still under warranty. The purchase price was less than half the sticker! I’ve had the pleasure of driving the car and one word comes to mind: comfort. The front seats are essentially La-Z-Boys with seat belts: infinitely adjustable, heated and cooled, and even feature a pulsing massage. Even though the car is a coupe, the rear comfortably seats two adults, adding practicability and use. Don’t let the two doors fool you, this car is big. Powered by a V8 the car drives like a dream, absorbing pot holes and greatly blocking out road and exterior noises. Switching to sport mode stiffens up the suspension and lets the engine rev higher before shifts. Just in case you’re in a hurry. Interior amenities are virtually endless and there are too many to list. The fore-mentioned seats, leather, wood trim, navigation, dual climate control, and excellent sound system remind you why everyone wants to drive a Benz. I took a date out for a spin in this car and when we arrived at our destination she said, “do we have to get out?”
