Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a movie that feels like a Nintendo game. It’s fun, charming, out there, and doesn’t make a whole lot of sense – and that’s what’s so great about it. When bass playing slacker Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera, Superbad) falls for Ramona, he quickly realizes she has some excess baggage and he must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to be with her. The seventh, and most evil, is played by no other than the witty Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, and various other Wes Anderson flicks). Filled with quirky dialogue, fun special effects, and pop-culture references – Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a must see for dorks and geeks alike. Also recommended if you’re a fan of Kick-Ass, or visa versa.
