We’re a bit partial to his work with the The White Stripes, but we’re still super pleased with Jack White’s other bands and solo career. I’m Shakin’ is off his latest solo album Blunderbluss and our Song of the Week. Check out the video, and if you dig it – get some Jack on iTunes.

Song of the Week | I Fought Piranhas
Admittedly, we’ve dropped the ball with posting our Song of the Week segment, so this time around we have something badass. From the documentary It Might Get Loud here is Jack White doing a rustic live performance of I Fought Piranhas which he originally recorded on The White Stripes self titled album from 1999. Enjoy.
Song of the Week | Black Balloon by The Kills
If you read Frachelli, you’re obviously into cool stuff and you probably like good music too. We’re going to try a new segment, where we post a song of the week. Lately I’ve been on a female rock star kick, so this week’s song belongs to The Kills. The Kills are led by Alison Moshart who also sings in Jack White’s band The Dead Weather. Check out this video of the song Black Balloon, and if you dig it – get it on iTunes or Amazon for 99 cents.
It Might Get Loud
If you’re into rock music, and especially if you’re a guitar player, check out It Might Get Loud. This documentary brings three generations of rock guitar stars together – Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), The Edge (U2), and Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather). All three legends reflect on their lives as guitar players and the filmmaker takes you to places that were influential during their careers. Page, White, and The Edge also have several laid back jams together – which is very cool to see and listen to. A must have movie for rock and guitar fans.
The Dead Weather – Sea of Cowards
Frachelli previously did a post on The Dead Weather’s first album Horehound which was an awesome collection of heavy blues rock led by Jack White. He’s back with the same crew – Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (played with Jack White in The Raconteurs) and once again they do not disappoint. Bands like this are one of the few reminders that rock isn’t yet dead, so be sure to pick up this album.

The Dead Weather – Horehound
Sometimes two plus two equals five, and that’s usually what happens when talented musicians team up with Jack White. White (best known for The White Stripes) teams up with Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (played with Jack White in The Raconteurs) resulting in a album layered with raw, wall-shaking rock. White hangs up his usual role of guitar playing front-man and sits behind the drums – he of course still does a lot of vocals on the album. Horehound was The Dead Weather‘s first album and features killer songs such as I Cut Like a Buffalo and Treat Me Like Your Mother. $9.99
