When seeing the trailer for Kick-Ass, I figured it would be either a movie that totally sucked or was incredibly awesome. Luckily, it fell into the “incredibly awesome” category and I highly recommend it. The movie is like a dorky superhero version of Kill Bill filled with great characters, humor, and action. The superheros, especially Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson), have no actual “powers” but are rather just ordinary citizens standing up to the tyranny of evil men. Nicholas Cage plays a great Batman-like avenger, but it’s the character of Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) that really steals the show. Kick-Ass would be best labeled as a dark comedy, but it still has some really well made action scenes and sequences. Basically, it’s a ridiculous movie that is extremely well made and acted. Oh yeah, and it has Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin from Superbad) in it. Watch it.
