What would happen if you stuck a 911-based engine in the lighter, mid-engined Cayman? Well, you’d get the all-new Cayman GT4. Porsche has refrained from giving 911 power to it’s younger brother the Cayman, but the cries from enthusiasts have been heard and answered. Not only is the mid-engined layout now beefed-up, this car will reportedly be ONLY available with a manual transmission – which serves the complaints derived from the automatic-only GT3. Visually, the Cayman GT4 stands apart with aggressive side scoops and race spoilers, and when you tap into the 385 hp 3.8 L naturally aspirated 6 cylinder, you’ll know you’re not just in a Boxster with some effects bolted on. The GT4 will hit 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 mph. Pricing is expected to start around $85k.
