The Audi A5 is one hell of a car, and those looking for a little more umph can opt for the beefier S5. The 2013 models will now have a third option, the ferocious RS 5 with a 450hp 4.2 Liter V8. The Audi RS 5 also has a sportier suspension and 19″ forged wheels to keep it stuck to the road and enable it to hit 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds (independent tests have shown results as low as 4.0 seconds). At 75 mph the RS 5 will deploy it’s rear spoiler to maintain high speed stability as it climbs to its top speed of 174 mph. You’ll be able to enjoy all this performance from the luxurious and ergonomic cockpit similar to it’s tamer A5 sibling. However, you’ll be reminded that you’re in the RS version when you grip the racing style 3-spoke flat bottom steering wheel. Base price $69,795.

The Audi A5 is a beautiful mid-sized coupe with a near perfect interior. When sitting in the driver’s seat, everything just looks and feels “right.” For those who are more of a thrill seeker, the S5 model adds V8 power to the tune of 354 hp. All that brawn goes through Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system, which means you won’t get stranded in an unexpected snowstorm. For a car of it’s size and comfort, a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds is highly respectable. While it’s not going to beat a 911 on the track, you get V8 power that you can drive in the rain starting at $53k. Who’s ready for the upcoming 450hp RS5??
