There isn’t really anything more grim than the end of the world, but Steve Carell can somehow make it funny. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World hits theaters June 22nd and Carell’s character is joined by his neighbor (played by the absolutely beautiful Keira Knightley) after his wife takes off in a panic as an asteroid nears Earth. Also featuring the hilarious Patton Oswalt, this summer movie looks like it can be a good one. In the meantime, check out the trailer!

All-New BMW M6

We recently said we were interested to see what the M version of the new 3-series will offer, and we were uber pleased to see BMW’s recent press release for the all-new 3rd generation M6. Ditching the predecessor’s V10, a new twin turbocharged V8 capable of 560hp and 500 lb-ft of torque takes the reins. While horsepower is up 10% and torque an impressive 30% – fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced nearly 30%. 0-62mph is achieved in a blistering 4.2 seconds all while you enjoy the creature comforts of this luxury touring coupe, which also holds two seats in the back. The 2012 M6 Convertible model will hit US shores in June 2012 followed by the coupe in late summer as a 2013 model.

It may seem crazy to spend sixty grand on a Jeep, but when that Jeep can hit 0-60 in under 4.8 seconds it starts to make a bunch more sense. Despite its size, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is able to crank out that impressive 0-60 time due to its 6.4L 470hp Hemi V8 which also packs 465 lb-ft of torque. For the premium price you don’t just get a bigger engine – sporty body panels, performance Brembo brakes and LED lighting help distinguish the SRT8 from the standard Cherokee. Inside, you’re treated to carbon fiber trim, an upgraded sound system and a driving mode selector that allows the driver to change the cars settings based on driving conditions (track, sport, tow, auto, snow). Not quite as powerful as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but then again it’s about half the price.

There’s no debating that the last Spider-Man movie left something to be desired, but a reboot starring The Social Network’s Andrew Garfield as the web-slinging Peter Parker looks a lot more promising. July 3rd The Amazing Spider-Man hits the big screen and other stars include Martin Sheen, Sally Parker, Emma Stone and Denis Leary. This time around The Lizard is the nemesis and you can also catch the action in 3D. Check out the trailer!

New BMW 3 Series

The 3-series has been a highly touted car line since 1975 and the new 2012 model is looking sharp. It seems that every car model continues to grow as the 3 now has the footprint of earlier 5-series models (it seems to be the American way, but is bigger better?). In addition to sedan, coupe, and convertible configurations, the new 3 is also going to be offered in 5-door touring and hatchback models. Power for the 335 remains at 300hp, but the 328 now comes with 240hp and 255 lb-ft torque – and a new 8 speed transmission helps acceleration and fuel efficiency. The interior also got a refresh and now offers head-up display and 6.5″ freestanding iDrive screen. It’ll be interesting to see what the new M version brings to the table…
