Now the iPad 2 has another new contender in addition to the Kindle Fire. The color Nook Tablet from Barnes & Noble features a 7” color touchscreen that will display HD video, books, apps, and more. The battery is good for 9 hours of video and the new Nook will hook up to your Netflix and/or Hulu Plus accounts. Coming from Barnes & Noble it’s obviously also targeted at readers and over 2.5 million titles can be downloaded over the high speed Wi-Fi connection. As you’d expect with a tablet you can browse the web, listen to music, check your email, and etc. The Nook Tablet is powered by a 1Ghz processor and has 16 GB of storage (which can be upgraded to 32 GB w/ an SD card). Just in time for the holidays, it ships Nov 18th.
Tron Legacy may have been a bit of a popcorn flick (we didn’t mind the sweet special effects) but what’s really amazing about the film is the soundtrack. Original motion picture soundtrack by the uber popular French electronic duo Daft Punk is a real treat. While it has some tracks heavy with synths and beat machines as you’d expect from Daft Punk - they also really stepped out of their norm and also feature parts that are played by a 90 piece orchestra. If you’re into Daft Punk or soundtrack music, definitely check out this album. It’s also great to listen to when riding a light bike.
Due to hit US shores late next summer, the new BMW M5 will go on sale in the states as a 2013 model. The sportier and more aggressive fender flares make it somewhat distinguishable from the standard 5 series, but do little to suggest what’s lurking inside. As with M5’s of the past, this model is an absolute sleeper – this time packing a 560 hp twin-turbocharged V8 in it’s seemingly family-friendly body style. 0-60 mph is reached in 3.7 seconds, which is even more impressive when you consider that the car has five seats and luxury sedan features. Base price for the 2013 M5 will be around $92k.
Helicopters are cool. iPads, iPod touches, iPhones and Android phones are cool too. A remote control helicopter that you can control with your iOS or Android device while viewing a live video feed from the air is super cool. Controllable from an augmented reality app the Parrot Quadricopter is perfect for spying and you can play augmented reality in-air dogfights with other drones. Also included is a protective hull so the propellers won’t get damaged if you fly into stuff.

There’s something to be said for a vehicle that costs $14k and goes from 0-60 mph in a staggering 2.6 seconds. The 2012 Suzuki Hayabusa is at the top of Suzuki’s superbike category and the model was first introduced in 1999 (also known as the GSX1300R). While the original had a 1300 cc engine the ‘12 model has a 1340 cc that pushes it to it’s factory restricted 186mph. Hmm, wonder how fast it would go if you undo the governor….
