I always found vintage maps and globes fascinating. We take for granted that we can now go to Google Earth and drill down to the driveway of the house we grew up in. Before, map making took a lot of adventure – along with guesswork. This 22″ Italian style globe comes wrapped with replica 16th-century nautical maps from the National Museum of Science, Florence. Adding a great antique and vintage aesthetic to your decor, it also functions as a bar. The globe hinges open to store glass and stemware and a bottle of your liking. There is additional storage for liquor, wine, and other favorite forms of hooch. When furnishing your home or apartment, add a little class to your booze stash….

Nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas – I love it all. Mexican food is mucho tasty but be sure to wash it down with some equally as yummy soda. Jarritos have been around Mexico since 1950 and luckily they are available in the states too (as of 1989). Less carbonated than American soda, Jarritos comes in thriteen zesty flavors – my favorite being limón (lime, if you couldn’t figure that one out). Toronja (grapefruit) and guayaba (guava) are also pretty awesome. Next time you’re throwing a party, put out some Jarritos next to the salsa and chips – you’ll look cool and cultured!

After all the turkey and mashed potatoes this Thanksgiving, you’ll be in need of some burned calories. Boxing, kick-boxing, kenpo, and etc are all awesome cardio workouts. A punching bag is a great addition to your home gym and a quality bag such as this Everlast 4004 Traditional Heavy Bag (40 lbs) will last forever. I’m still using my uncles old Everlast bag he gave me when I was just a kid. A great after work-stress reliever; coming home and throwing some combos at the punching bag will keep you a lean, mean, fighting machine. Also, it’s always good to keep your self-defense skill sharp – zombie attacks are no joke.

Every weekday I take either a train or bus into Manhattan to go to work. On my way I pass thousands of people, travel under a river and eventually climb up 15 stories in an elevator. While it may seem like a hectic commute, I never have to worry about getting eaten by a crocodile or not having drinkable water when I reach the office. At the 2010 L.A. Autoshow Porsche unveiled their most powerful Cayman model, the 330hp 2011 Cayman R. What appears to be a Boxter Spyder with a roof, the Cayman R is designed to be a lightweight and agile sports car. Just don’t plan to drink Slurpees in it while listening to Brittney Spears on a hot summer day – to reduce weight there is no stereo, air conditioning, or cupholder. The weight reduction and power increase over the Cayman S help the R reach 0-60 in 4.4 seconds (when paired with their PDK transmission and Sport Plus package). That’s comparable to many more expensive sports cars – and being mid-engined, I’d imagine it’s more confident around turns than it’s rear-engined big brother the 911.  Starting at $66k it’s a ready and able track star, I’d just pick a different color than the “Peridot Metallic” Porsche features in their gallery shots…..

GoldenEye for Nintendo 64 was one of the biggest hit games when I was kid. I remember missing meals while being engrossed in the single player mode – sniping people in the snow, gun fighting in the jungle, and setting charges to blow up facilities run by evil men. The multiplayer for the game was huge as well and it seemed like everyone was playing it back in the day. Now the game has been remade for Wii and you can play against other nostalgic nerds online. The  updated single player storyline featuring Daniel Craig as Bond and written by Bruce Feirstein, the screenwriter for the original movie.

Robert Plant is obviously best known as the front man for legendary rock band Led Zeppelin. Years later, his 2007 collaboration with bluegrass superstar Alison Krauss, Raising Sand, earned the duo five Grammy Awards. While it doesn’t feature Plant’s shrieking, high-note-hitting, heavy metal voice we’ve heard in the past – he’s definitely still got it. The album is completely solid throughout, ranging in various styles such as folk, rock, swamp blues, and bluegrass. They even cover one of my favorite songwriters, Tom Waits. Without a doubt worth the $9.99 price on iTunes.

Toyota enters the supercar market for the first time with the $375k 2012 Lexus LFA. This new front-engined flagship car packs a 553hp V10 with a redline of 9,000 rpm. Weighing only 3569 lbs (almost 400lbs lighter than a Ferrari 599) the car has a great power to weight ratio and achieves 0-60 in a mere 3.6 seconds. Keeping it skinny, the cabin is constructed with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic or CFRP for short. I just hope they don’t have that gas pedal issue with this model, because that would really suck at 202 mph!
