Some parts of your daily life are completely mundane. Brushing your teeth, doing the dishes, getting the mail. Now, the True Clean Towel adds a little humor and practicality to personal hygiene. The towel is clearly mapped out with your “top” and “bottom” body parts so you never have to worry about drying your face with remnants of your you know what. My favorite thing about this clever item is that it’s actually a really good towel. It measures 5′ x 2.5′ of 100% heavy weight cotton, so you get a huge luxurious towel at a reasonable price. The True Clean Towel makes for a fun and usable gift, and I’m sure your girlfriend will appreciate you having one too. You can get it for $19.00, but unfortunately the hot blonde is not included.
They also had this steamy commercial which we couldn’t leave you without:
Since it’s a Friday and frighteningly close to Halloween, Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale seemed like the most appropriate item to discuss. Although it’s never included in “Domestic” specials at bars (pisses me off), Sam Adams makes some great American brews. If you’re feeling festive and want to take a break from the ordinary, crack open a Pumpkin Ale. Enjoy and Happy Halloween weekend!
There’s a billion reality TV shows out there now, and most are total crap. One that is actually a good watch is American Chopper, which follows the production of custom motorcycles by Orange County Choppers. Most of their bikes are created for large companies as promotional pieces, but that doesn’t take away from the craftsmanship, design, creativity, and originality that goes into each motorcycle. One bike that I found particularly cool was this one done for Caterpillar machines. It’s got the look and feel of a bulldozer fitted to a custom motorcycle. While it probably spends most of its time at trade expos and press events, it’s still a really cool and one of a kind ride. Who knows, if Frachelli.com becomes the next big thing – we’ll get a Frachelli Chopper custom made and do a photo shoot with Scarlett Johansson. OK, I’m definately getting ahead of myself…..
Viggo Mortensen is best known for appearing in films such as The Lord of the Rings and A History of Violence, but I feel his strongest performance was in the less widely known gem Eastern Promises. The beautiful Naomi Watts cares for an orphaned infant, but in turn discovers how the child’s life is intertwined with the Russian Mob. Viggo plays one of the ruthless criminals associated with the same crime family, and they both embark on a twisted tale of murder, mystery, and deception. If you’re a fan of mob flicks and thrillers, this is a must see. Warning: some of the scenes are intense. Don’t mess with Viggo!
HD TV’s have become pretty standard in most households, but to truly get a proper theater experience you need to step up your sound system. I’ve had Klipsch speakers for years and they have yet to disappoint. While you can easily spend twice as much as this whole set on a single speaker, for most apartments, media rooms and living rooms – they are way more than enough. Over half of new theaters in North America choose Klipsch, and they’ve been a leader in the industry for over 60 years. This HD 1000 system will produce 5.1 surrounds sound of two front and two rear speakers, center channel speaker, and 10″ subwoofer. MSRP for this set is $999 but they’re Available on Buy.com for $550.
Life. Every man leads one. There’s a near endless list of career paths a man can follow – Doctor, waiter, teacher, lawyer, plumber, and etc, but few jobs are like being a rock star. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been an outlaw rocker for decades and without question has seen and done some wild things. October 26th you’ll have the chance to hear his story when his book Life hits the shelves.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, the video game that’s sold over 7 million copies, returns with a sequel on October 26th. Once again you play as Starkiller, Darth Vader’s evil apprentice, through a storyline which takes place between Star Wars Episodes III and IV. The game promises even better controls, combos, moves, and levels. There’s even a 4 player challenge mode for the Wii version where you and your pals can kick each others asses with lightsabers. If you wind up playing it ten hours a night, we recommend not telling any females.
Designed to work 5,000 ft underwater the new Breitling Superocean is built with the utmost quality that the watchmaker has been known for since 1884. The black bezel with large numerals is secured under cambered sapphire crystal, and time is powered by automatic movement. As pictured, the new Superocean watch comes in three bracelet options, all of which will look great whether you’re deep sea diving or in a conference room. There’s also colored dial options for an additional accent. Suggested Retail is around $2,700.
Now that it’s well into October and good camping weather, make sure you have a good knife before setting out into the woods. Gerber has been a trusted name in knives for years, and they now have a Bear Grylls Survivor series. This Bear Grylls Survivor knife has a 4.75 inch half-serrated blade attached to a molded rubber grip (the end can even be used as a hammer). The knife has a few more tricks up it’s sleeve, it also comes with an integrated fire starter, blade sharpener, and emergency whistle. If it’s good enough for Bear Grylls to survive with, it’s good enough for me. Even if you’re not stranded in the wilderness, it’s a great companion for any outdoor activity.
These Roly Poly Whiskey Glasses (which of course could be filled with other beverages, i.e. cognac) will make a great addition to your home bar or drinkware collection. These 7 oz. glasses have a unique design that allows them to roll around without tipping or spilling. They’ll certainly be a hit at any home or apartment gathering and a must-have for the “man cave.” They come in a set of six and will also go quite well with a roly game on the Wobble Chess Set.
In 2013 the Lotus Esprit is scheduled to return. Unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the car is slated to have nearly 200 more hp than the last Esprit produced in 2004. A 543 hp supercharged V8 will get the 3,300 lb car from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. The interior is clearly purpose driven, with sport steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, and carbon fiber trim. At an estimated price of $175k and a top speed over 200 mph, it’ll be very interesting to see how the 2013 Lotus Esprit fairs against the Porsche’s, Ferrari’s, and Lamborghini’s of the world.
Dexter The Game, which was a big hit on the iPhone, was just released in HD for the iPad. True to the hit series Dexter, you play as Dexter Morgan, Miami Metro Police blood spatter analyst and America’s favorite serial killer. The game recreates the show in 3D as you gather evidence, stalk victims, and rid Miami of evil men. There’s also several fun mini games and missions such as performing blood spatter analysis and DNA tests. Definitely one of the cooler games available in the App Store for iPad.
Mumford & Sons has been gaining popularity at a rapid rate, and the reason is because they are pretty damn good. The four young men from London that make up the band have created something very worthwhile with the album Sigh No More. They somehow make a blend of folk, bluegrass, and country sound not only melodic – but upbeat and powerful. Tracks I rather enjoy from the album include Little Lion Man, The Cave, and Awake My Soul – but each song is heart-filled and tells a story.
