Today Porsche issued a press lease stating that they green lit the production of the 918 Spyder, which made it’s debut as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It’s always exciting when a car manufacturer the caliber of Porsche announces a new model, but the 918 should be extra special. The car is a hybrid that will get 94 mpg while producing exceptional performance. More information on the 918 Spyder is expected in the months to come, but at first glance it’s the supercar of the future.

If you enjoy using the trackpad on a MacBook Pro you can now use the same technology with your Mac deskstop computer or standard MacBook. The Magic Trackpad has a large surface area that you can use to click, scroll in any direction, swipe, and rotate images. Best of all its connection is wireless  thanks to Bluetooth. Additionally, it’s sized the same as the Apple wireless keyboard so the two fit perfectly side by side. Makes a mouse seem pretty primitive. $69

If owning the world’s fastest production car isn’t enough for you, don’t worry – there is a special edition. The Bugatti Veyron packs over 1,000 hp and tops out at 253mph (good luck finding a road or track where you can drive that fast). The car is an engineering marvel with split second shifting, a self adjusting rear wing, and ten radiators to cool the output of the massive W16 engine. For the real high roller, the Hermes edition gives the car a cosmetic makeover with only the finest materials – even the trunk is lined with calfskin. The makeover also brings the price tag over $2MM.

Just because you can’t afford a Rolex,  it doesn’t mean you can’t still wear a nice watch. This Armani watch with a leather strap is affordable, simple, and sleek. It has no diamonds or gold, but it will still tell the time and look appropriate on your wrist in the office.  While you’re waiting for the big promotion to get a Breitling or such, you can still look good with a watch that costs as much as a long night drinking in New York City. Currently $60 off on Amazon.

Was Iron Man 2 the best movie ever? No, but it had Robert Downey Jr, Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow, awesome cars and Scarlett Johansson in it – which by default makes it pretty cool. This fast-paced summer blockbuster in hi-def on Blu-ray disc is sure to entertain, even if it is a little bit silly at moments. I mean come on – Mickey Rourke splits a car in half with whips made of lightning – how bad ass is that? Releases September 28th, pre-order now for a great gift!

It’s been a hot summer and if Al Gore is right it’s only going to get warmer! Be prepared for sweltering gatherings and invest in some nice shorts. Banana Republic offers several styles that are perfect for that casual afternoon party. Their clothes are both classy and well made – so they’ll hold up in more ways than one. $40-$50.

I know the slogan for this site includes the word “tasteful” but there are some train wrecks you can’t stop watching. The trailer for The Jersey Shore Season Two pretty much says it all, so I’ll keep the commentary to a minimum. The crew is back for more debauchery in Miami premiering July 29th…get fist pumped.

This album was recommended by a friend a few months ago and has since grown on me tremendously. Grizzly Bear’s folk rock style is both soothing and enjoyable. Some of the tracks on Veckatimest remind me of Simon and Garfunkel while others are akin to The Shins. The entire album is solid, my favorite three tracks being: Cheerleader, Ready Able, and Two Weeks. Only $9.99 on iTunes.

It’s summer. It’s hot. But that doesn’t mean you can go out on a Saturday night wearing a wife-beater and cargo shorts. Tough it out with a pair of jeans, and as long as your destination isn’t too high class – throw on a nice T -Shirt. I know the phrase “nice T-Shirt” sounds a bit like an oxymoron, but when paired with the right jeans, shoes and a watch – you can pull it off just fine. This pocket T from the Gap is only $16.50. Unless you’re auditioning for The Jersey Shore, you don’t need anything written on your shirt and this cheap purchase will do the trick.

If you don’t know what a flux capacitor is – you just failed pop culture 101. When compared with the special effects of today, some movies of our childhood may seem a bit underwhelming – but that doesn’t mean they still weren’t awesome. The Back the Future movies were classic and still a riot to watch today. So hop in your DeLorean, hit 88mph, and don’t forget to pack your hoverboard.

Originally designed in the ’50s, the style of the Wayfarer has been going strong for over five decades. The sunglasses of choice for the Blues Brothers are now available in several limited edition rare prints. Pictured above is the Wayfarer in black with the New York City subway map printed on the inside of the frames. These shades are cool and collectible. They’ve been fashionable for over 50 years – so you’re not buying into a “trend.”

I saw one of these parked near my apartment building and it really caught my eye. The Triumph Thruxton is a sporty Modern Classic which means you get cool 60s styling with today’s mechanics and performance (fuel injection, brakes that actually stop, etc). With 69hp you’re not going to be keeping up with a Ducati Superbike, but that cute girl from the coffee shop may be more willing to jump on the back.  It won’t totally break the bank either, this gorgeous bike starts at $8,799

I recently found my old iPod (diesel powered one with the “wheel”) under a couch and was pleasantly surprised to find some of my forgotten albums (the actual CD’s are probably under another couch). One notable find was the live Led Zeppelin Album How The West Was Won. Being a huge Zeppelin fan, any live versions are always appreciated, but this capture of two 1972 Southern California performances is truly top notch. It’s $16.99 which may seem high for an iTunes album, but some of the tracks are over twenty minutes long and really several songs lumped together. The 25 minute version of Dazed and Confused holds some hidden treasures and is worth the price of admission alone. My personal favorite is  Immigrant Song which they somehow managed to make even more rocking than the studio version.
