Typically, sequels suck. Rarely due trilogies rule. Star Wars, The Godfather, and The Lord of the Rings are in a league of their own when it comes to movie franchises and the latter has just been released on Blu-ray. Whether you’re a sci-fi/fantasy dork or not, there is no denying that The Lord of the Rings movies are epic, entertaining, and incredibly well made. Watch all three masterpieces the way they were meant to be seen, in crystal clear HD on Blu-Ray. These movies are sure to be timeless classics and now the trilogy is only $63.99 on Amazon making it a great buy. (die hard fans may want to hold out for the extended version, in case 9 hours of LOTR isn’t enough)
I’m usually a hard-top kind of guy, but this thing is just sexy. With the Boxster Spyder, the already pretty Boxster gets an attractive face-lift, weight reduction, and 10hp more than the S model. A manual roof replaces an electric top, straps replace door handles, and there is no cup holder or stereo. Oh yeah, no air conditioning either. Make sure you drive fast with the top down to cool off on a hot day.
What’s left is a 320 hp roadster that’s sole purpose is to be driven. If you opt for Porsche’s dual clutch PDK transmission, the Boxster Spyder will come with paddle shifters and launch control. This is a car that is meant for carving through mountain roads, not picking up the kids from soccer practice. While it is by no means practical, the Porsche Boxster Spyder is a beautiful and balanced sports car. 0-60 is under 5 seconds and the base price is $61,200.
Normally, I’d call a beer that bars serve with an orange “girlie”, but Blue Moon is simply an excellent full flavored brew. I’ve been enjoying their Belgian-Style Wheat Ale, a spiced beer brewed with white wheat and oats. If you are too manly for the orange garnish, the beer is quite tasty without it, but I’m telling you – it’s real good with it as well. If you’ve never tried a Blue Moon grab a six-pack for your fridge or order one next time your out. You won’t be disappointed.
When my hard drive crashed a few months ago, the loss of hours of work nearly brought me to tears. I learned the very hard way that you need to back up your work. There have been a lot of super hero movies released in the last few years but only one has the rambunctious, sarcastic, and cocky acting of Robert Downey Jr. The movie is well acted by both Hollywood bad-boy Downey, Jeff Bridges, and the lovely Gwyneth Paltrow. The special effects of the movie are excellent and it really makes you want to have an iron suit that can kick a ton of ass. The movie also features really cool location shots and exotic cars – something that I always appreciate. Getting Iron Man on Blu-ray will be a great warm up before seeing Iron Man 2 which will be hitting theaters May 7th.

When decorating, it’s hard to find things that are fun but tasteful. This funky desktop clock that looks a little bit like Wall-E is silly enough to be fun, but will not have your boss shaking his head if it’s on your work desk. It runs off of C batteries so you’ll also save a space on your already over-vacated surge protector and have one less unsightly wire to look at.
iTunes has a bunch of 80’s albums featured for $7.99 which made me realize that Mother’s Milk by Red Hot Chili Peppers is 20 years old! The band has become an international hit selling millions of records but Mother’s Milk was their first album to go gold. The album is filled with hard rock, punk, and funk but also has moments of sweet melody as seen in the track Pretty Little Ditty. The band also does an excellent cover of Higher Ground by Stevie Wonder which was a popular MTV video at the time. Nowadays, college kids buy Red Hot Chili Peppers tickets with their parents credit cards and take pictures with their cell phones. Mother’s Milk gets back to the bands roots where underground clubbers were head-banging to their funky groove. For $7.99 don’t miss out on this cool 80’s album.
MMMMmmm beer. It doesn’t get much better than having cold beer on tap in your home! Reduce your trips to the store and cleaning up of cans and bottles with your very own Keg-O-Rator. At the size of a mini fridge, it’ll easily fit in any room and really up the “cool factor.” A friend of mine recently placed his in a home bar, an extra step you can take if you want to be more stylish. Strangely, the most expensive pair of shoes I own are flip flops. I was headed on a trip to Italy and knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking in hot weather, so I wanted to invest in some quality sandals.
